THE FISH STORY SONG VIDEO
December 9, 2011
Gang,
This is the time of year when the men-folk gather around the woodstove down at the country store to commune, commiserate, and ask one of life's eternal, if seasonal, questions: “Get your deer yet?” I haven’t gotten mine, but that’s because I don’t try - though I did almost take one out with my car last night, just outside the general store. During hunting season they seem to move down into town, where it’s safe. Deer seem to have a keen sense of irony.
The Fish Story Song Video is here! Those of you who have pre-ordered will be getting yours in a few days – and those of you who didn’t can also get yours in a few days, too, if you order now. There’s a sample of the video up on YouTube. And keep in mind that the store at the website is a great place for Christmas shopping in general – top quality stocking stuffers galore! (The order form may still say "pre-order," but be assured it is in stock and shipping.)
It’s that time of year again when I take stock of things and realize how amazingly fortunate I am to have the kind of support I do. Mr. Dan Beach runs TomRush.com just like Casey Jones would drive a train – at high speed, always on or ahead of schedule, but without the wreck at the end, or so we hope. Andrea Sabata, Pat May, Mark Laurie, Barron Ruth, Bruce Houghton, Marilyn, Katy and ALL the talented folks at the booking agency, Skyline Music, keep me gainfully employed – sometimes over-employed – and as professionally organized as is possible, given what they have to work with. Tim Burke handles the concert vending in high style, keeping the shelves stocked and all that merch selling like proverbial hotcakes. And, far from least, my at-home family, who are forever urging me on in the creative work and somehow manage to survive my too-frequent absences. They seem to genuinely miss me, which I find an unending source of wonderment. Our boys, Ben and Rich, urge me on from Glasgow and Tempe, respectively, and I miss them!
Stay warm, cherish the ones you love, have the best holidays and New Year ever!

Quote of the month: from one of my Dad’s favorite recitations of grace: “… and keep us ever mindful of the needs of others.” And so,
I urge you to support your local public broadcasting stations.
And three of my perennial favorites:
